Anonymous asked: what as the best part about Europe?
Well I met a boy with whom I’m still skyping. He’s rad. We get along quite well. But the best part was the traditional Stockholm sauna experience. You’re in a sauna ‘till you get extremely hot, then you jump into the Baltic sea (1.5 degree Celcius). Then you get out and stand in the cold air and just chill with a beer. You go back in the sauna and repeat for about 2-3 hours. It sounds horrible but it was just so incredible. Highlight of the trip, easily.

But wifi is scarce as I’m moving house and have been working non stop. Apologies. If anyone has any topic ideas they would like me to cover please ask. I’ve already got a few waiting to be written up

So Manuel Ringlstetter took photos of ‘people wearing denim’ around Australia and he chose mine to be in his book!
Note: This was during my hippy beard stage.

The new ad for Libra tampons has been criticized for being transphobic. Although I don’t think this was the intention of the company, it is undoubtedly ignorant and offensive.
Firstly, the ‘transgendered’ woman portrayed in the ad isn’t a real representation of a transgendered person. They are a cross-dresser (or drag queen if they are in the appropriate environment). They are completely physically male but wear heavy makeup and eyelash extensions to create a parody of a woman. Drag queens are not dressing up like a woman, they are the exaggeration of a woman. Transgendered people are not a parody.
This ad implies that one must menstruate to be considered a woman which clearly goes against everything I believe. Not just in terms of lack of recognition of transgendered people, but the whole idea that gender can be defined so rigidly as a person’s genitalia.
